Information Architecture

Information Architecture

Information architecture involves organizing, structuring, and labeling content in a way that helps users find information and complete tasks.

An effective information architecture is often driven by a card sorting session with users and/or stakeholders. By applying the card sorting technique, we aim to understand how users prefer to find information, which ultimately establishes our information architecture. Good information architecture ensures people can find what they need to accomplish their tasks.

Examples

Nelnet.com

As we dug in to creating the NDS website, it helped to understand the greater Nelnet picture first. By doing an audit of the current Nelnet web-presence, we were able to reorganize and construct an information architecture that fell in line with the corporate line-of-business initiative.
